Tiny Tots Story Time
Thursday mornings are for tiny tot book lovers. Bring you wee ones to Big Hill Books for Storytime with our talented Friends of Big Hill Books volunteer readers. It’s never too early to introduce children to books. Local children’s author Melanie Heuiser Hill and other volunteers lead our Tiny Tots Thursday Storytime program.
Ghost Stories Gathering
Join local middle grade and young adult authors Becca Ansari and Jacqueline West for this "fun-for-the-whole family” event. Both authors will read excerpts from their spooky books and host attendees for a brief Q&A about their love for haunted tales. $10 per family for general admission — includes Halloween-y refreshments, goodie grab bags and 10% off selected middle grade and young adult titles. Do you have young authors in your family? They can read their own ghosts stories around our in-store "campfire" to earn a $10 Big Hill Books gift card. Get your ticket here.
Big Hill Books Book Club
Our November BHB Book Club pick is Lucinda Berry’s Saving Noah, a newly released novel in paperback that will challenge you to reconsider your long-held beliefs and assumptions of morality. RSVPs encouraged but not required.
Friday Night Date Night
Every Friday night, Big Hill Books is open until 9 p.m. for you and your special someone to drop by for date night and some live music. Consider it a casual, low-key night out for the two of you after a nice dinner or matinee. Bring your partner, your mom, your friend, your dog or just yourself. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find your next great reads together.
Mischief & Mystery Book Club
The October pick for Big Hill Books’ newest book club, Mischief & Mystery, is Liz Moore’s, God of the Woods. RSVPs encouraged but not required.
I Couldn't Tell You

Descahamps’ book is an honest, fast-paced and deeply moving story about the hidden toll of chronic illness and the strength required to keep going when hope feels out of reach. RSVPs and pre-orders encouraged but not required.
These Elves Need Your Help!: Interactive drawing workshop with David LaRochelle
Join Minnesota's tallest elf, children’s author David LaRochelle, and earn your own Honorary Elf certificate! David will lead young (and not-so-young!) attendees through a fun mini art lesson inspired by his latest interactive "Draw and Erase" book, These Elves Need Your Help! Registration is encouraged because space is limited.
